Highly sophisticated gas compressor station “Karaozek” was constructed in Kyzylorda region at 944 kilometers of the main pipeline Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent. It is another strategic facility of Kazakhstan’s gas industry, which allows to provide uninterrupted gas supply to the north regions of the country, as well as to increase exports of natural fuel to China.
The gas compressor station “Karaozek” was constructed to arrange connected work with station “Bozoy” launched by National Operator KazTransGas JSC in April in Aktobe region. Work of these highly sophisticated facilities of gas infrastructure allows increasing flow capacity of the main pipeline Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent up to estimated 10 billion cubic meters or up to 15 billion cubic meters when required.
Both stations are equipped with most advanced gas compressor units and auxiliaries designed on high-tech basis for working in tough operations mode. At the same time, despite the difficulties during construction, KazTransGas JSC implemented these investment projects for six months ahead of schedule.
The Company could complete construction of the gas compressor station “Karaozek” ahead of schedule by using gas compressor units from internal reserve, i.e. by optimization. In addition, optimization allowed saving about 10 billion tenge.
New gas compressor station “Karaozek” has another vitally important task, except for increase in flow capacity of the main pipeline. Its construction was planned to supply gas to Astana, capital of Kazakhstan, as well as to the central and northern regions of the country.
While congratulating the gas workers on construction of the station, Kairat Sharipbayev, Vice-President of NC KazMunaiGas JSC noted its strategic importance for domestic gas transportation industry. “As of today, the facilities of gas infrastructure such as stations “Karaozek” and “Bozoy” have no analogues in any CIS country, – said Kairat Sharipbayev. – Work of these two stations will be another step in solving the task set by the Head of State at 17th party congress of Nur Otan – to meet demand of Kazakhstani market in domestic gas by 2018.
